Whither Campos and US F1?With the final pre-season test of 2010 under way we are still missing two teams - Campos and US F1. So where are they, when are they going to appear, and will Stefan GP manage to sneak into the 2010 season in place of one of them? With Campos it would appear that some 'relatively minor' cash-flow problems have delayed the build of their car, which is being undertaken by Italian manufacturer Dallara. It has come out over the last few weeks that things are running behind and that money, or the lack of, would appear to be at the root of this problem. The good news however is that there are strong rumours - but no formal announcement from Campos - of a management restructuring and with it an improvement in the team's finances. There is every chance the team will make it to the first race, although the management have their work cut out in the next seven days to make sure that can happen. Bruno Senna may lose his race deal in the fallout, but a talented driver with a pot of cash is sure to find a new berth in 2011, if not before. US F1 on the other hand is a different story altogether. It would appear that the team is months behind in its build programme, is woefully under-financed, and has asked the FIA if it can miss the first four races of the season. Rumours this week have apparently prompted the FIA to travel to the USA for a snap inspection of the team and key backer Chad Hurley is said to be considering throwing in his lot with Campos instead. In 1997 Lola attempted to re-enter F1 in what proved to be the shortest campaign on record by a team that proclaimed to be in for the long haul - they took part in qualifying for just one race before going bust.
